Mechanical insulation is primarily used to limit heat gain or loss from surfaces operating at temperatures above or below ambient temperature. At AW-NRG we take this one step further and look at the design objectives and considerations when we source our material and determine our installation processes. These can include:

Objectives

  • Condensation control
  • Energy conservation
  • Fire safety
  • Freeze protection
  • Personnel protection
  • Process control
  • Noise control

Considerations

  • Abuse resistance
  • Corrosion under insulation
  • Indoor Air Quality
  • Maintainability
  • Regulatory Considerations
  • Service and Location
  • Service Life

By consciously spending the time upfront and investing heavily in project start-up we minimize the re-work and service calls and are able to complete our work on-time, on-budget and as specified. We identify and plan to deal with any issues associated with the location. The efficient handling, movement and storage of materials and personnel will be important and planning will be required. In some cases, this may involve providing lifts or specialized job-site vehicles. A clean, dry, and secure storage area for materials and equipment must also be identified.
